As of January 1, 2018, NSW law requires that children must be either immunised*, on a recognised catch-up schedule, or unable to be immunised due to a medical reason to enrol in a childcare centre. Childcare centres must request one of the following documents:

  • An AIR Immunisation History Statement
  • An AIR Immunisation History Form
  • An AIR Immunisation Medical Exemption Form

You can obtain a copy of your child’s immunisation details from Medicare Online (via MyGov), the Medicare Express App, or by calling AIR general enquiries at 1800 653 809.

Children unvaccinated due to their parent’s conscientious objection can no longer be enrolled in childcare in NSW.

*Immunised means fully immunised for their age according to the Australian Immunisation Register.
