Your child will build a strong bond with all educators in their room, especially with their primary educator. This special relationship often leads to your child talking about them at home. Primary educators also become a great support and source of information for the whole family.
Most of our educators have formal early childhood education qualifications, and those who don’t are currently studying with our support. Additionally, all staff hold a current Working with Children Check, First Aid certificate, Child Protection certificate, and Safe Food Handling certificate.
Each room’s routine is tailored to fit the group’s needs, and we’re flexible to match your baby’s sleep and meal times as closely as possible to their home routine. This smooths the transition from home to care and helps your child feel comfortable.
A typical daily routine looks like this:
- Opening – 8:00am: Family grouping inside
- 8:00am – 10:00am: Outdoor play
- 10:00am – 10:30am: Morning tea
- 10:30am – 12:00pm: Learning activities
- 12:00pm – 12:30pm: Lunch
- 12:30pm – 2:30pm: Rest time / quiet activities
- 3:00pm: Afternoon tea
- 3:30pm – 5:00pm: Outdoor play
- 5:00pm – 6:00pm: Family grouping inside
Your child’s group may be outside while others are inside, providing the best learning opportunities and maximising space. Our routine is flexible, keeping children inside during colder mornings and outside during the warmer parts of the day.
Yes, all Kinda Kapers services have qualified cooks who prepare balanced meals, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. Our meals are delicious and nutritious, and we encourage children to participate in cooking activities to promote healthy eating.

Long daycare centres (LDCC) offer extended hours of care to accommodate working parents. They typically provide meals and cater to children under three years old. Both preschools and LDCCs are legally required to provide a structured educational preschool program.
As of January 1, 2018, NSW law requires that children must be either immunised*, on a recognised catch-up schedule, or unable to be immunised due to a medical reason to enrol in a childcare centre. Childcare centres must request one of the following documents:
- An AIR Immunisation History Statement
- An AIR Immunisation History Form
- An AIR Immunisation Medical Exemption Form
You can obtain a copy of your child’s immunisation details from Medicare Online (via MyGov), the Medicare Express App, or by calling AIR general enquiries at 1800 653 809.
Children unvaccinated due to their parent’s conscientious objection can no longer be enrolled in childcare in NSW.
*Immunised means fully immunised for their age according to the Australian Immunisation Register.
For more information, visit NSW Government Health.
We communicate with families verbally, through phone calls, and via email. Each morning, our educators greet families, and in the afternoons, they discuss your child’s day. For younger children, we use communication books, and each room has communication boards.
Each day your childs room will email out a ‘Day Book’ slide that includes photos, a description of the days adventures and a summary of the educational activities & topics that were explored.
Educators will call you during the day if there’s something important to share. You’re welcome to call anytime, especially as your child settles in. Your call will be directed to your child’s educators so you can speak directly to them.
Most other communication is done via email, including parent newsletters, reminders, and family statements. Receipts, artworks, and brochures will be placed in your child’s pocket.
