We’re a passionate, family-run early learning centre with over 35 years of experience, operating seven centres in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Maitland.

Child safety is our highest priority, guiding every policy, procedure, and training initiative at Kinda Kapers. Our commitment is transparent, proactive, and continuously reviewed to ensure the absolute highest standards for your child.

Embedding the 10 Child Safe Standards

Our safeguarding approach is guided by the 10 Child Safe Standards set by the Office of the Children’s Guardian. We maintain a clear Statement of Commitment to child safety and regularly review key procedures, including supervision, transitions and daily routines.

Expert Training and Vetting

All educators are fully trained and qualified in Child Protection and receive ongoing refreshers to stay alert to signs of risk or unusual behaviour. Every staff member holds a current Working With Children Check (WWCC), which is routinely monitored and renewed.

A Culture of Transparency and Accountability

We promote a culture where speaking up is encouraged, and concerns are taken seriously. Managers and educators are trained to maintain high levels of awareness. If a concern or complaint is raised, we conduct a thorough internal review and proactively notify the Department of Education to request an independent investigation, ensuring full accountability.

Empowering Children’s Voices

Through the Empowerment and Participation program, we help children understand that their voices matter. We build their confidence to speak up, especially if they ever feel unsure or unsafe, and ensure they know there are trusted adults ready to listen and respond.
